Whereas the insured by a proposal and declaration, which shall be the basis of this policy and is deemed to be incorporated herein has applied to the company for the insurance provided by this policy and has paid the premium as consideration for such insurance.

The company agrees subject to the terms exceptions and conditions contained herein or endorsed hereon that if during the period of insurance the property described in the schedule be lost or damaged as a result of any cause whatsoever except as hereinafter mentioned, the company will indemnify the insured against such loss or damage.
